The firm of David Burrows was started in April 1989 with an office in Clevedon, near Bristol. The firm then consisted of David Burrows and his secretary. David had practised in partnership in Bristol since 1976 and had retired from his then practice at the end of 1988.

The aim of the new firm was to be a specialist family and child law practice with an emphasis on LSC funded work.

In 1992 a branch office was set up in Bishopston, Bristol which then moved to offices in Park Row in central Bristol in April 1993. The office in Clevedon closed in September 1998. All work is now concentrated in Bristol.

The aim of the firm remains to provide assistance in family and child law. This now includes domestic violence and other emergency family work, judicial review, child support and education law.

The firm continues to offer specialist advice, representation and assistance in all areas of family and child law. In particular the firm aims to provide a high quality of training for all fee-earning staff and to extend its range of specialist family law services; primarily within Bristol but, to an extent, to a wider range of clients and other firms of solicitors.
