David
Burrows was admitted in March 1973
and, for most of his career has
specialised in family law, especially
for legally aided clients. He is
a member of the Law Society’s
Children Panel (joined at its inception)
and a member since its beginning
of Solicitor’s Family Law
Association. He has now become the
Chairman of the SFLA. He lectures
on CPD courses for such organisations
as Central Law Training, Family
Law, Bristol University and local
law societies. He was instrumental
in helping to set up the first mediation
service in the country in Bristol
and remains a trustee of that service.
Since July 1997 he has been a Higher
Court Advocate (Civil).

publishes widely (including in Family
Law, New Law Journal,
Law Society’s Gazette
(with regular columns in each of these),
Solicitor’s Journal;
and his published books include three
on legal aid (1987-1994), Child
Support (Butterworths, 1993),
Family Law Act 1996 (CLP,
1996). He is the general editor of
Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents
Vol 16(2): Family Law (Butterworths)
and of Butterworths Family Law
Guide (1996). He is a founder
contributor to Family Court Practice
(Jordans). |
